The Petition to Ban TikTok in Kenya Continues

Earlier in August 2023, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew met with Kenyan President William Ruto to protect its interest in Kenya. During the meeting, it was agreed that TikTok would work with the government of Kenya in reviewing and monitoring its content.

Nevertheless, a petition has been filed against TikTok’s inappropriate content which promotes violence, foul language, explicit sexual content, and other extremism endangering Kenya’s cultural and religious values.

Bridget Connect Consultancy CEO, Bob Ndolo submitted this petition of banning TikTok to the Kenyan National Assembly Speaker, Moses Wetang’ula on the 15th of August, 2023.

The petitioner will appear before the Parliamentary Public Petitions Committee on the 26th of September to buttress this and provide more information.
