BlackRhino VR Unveils its AR Content Creation and Publishing Platform in Kenya
Kenya’s BlackRhino VR, a tech company specialising in extended reality (XR), has introduced a new augmented reality (AR) platform called MediAR.
This user-friendly AR cloud editor and publishing platform aims to empower content creators in the creative economy by enabling them to easily build and publish AR content without the complexities of coding.
BlackRhino leverages its XR expertise to create opportunities for socio-economic and cultural growth among the youth, to generate jobs and alleviate poverty in Africa.
Collaborating with local and international companies, the company focuses on innovative content delivery methods.
CEO Brian Afande highlighted that the launch of MediAR responds to the need to unlock Africa’s creative sector through AR. The platform’s drag-and-drop technology reduces the learning curve associated with coding, making AR solutions more accessible.
Afande emphasised the company’s objectives, stating, “Our primary objectives are to empower Africa’s youth, who are the innovators of the future, to broaden their skills set that allows them to scale up innovations as well as to democratise extended reality technologies in order to make them easily accessible so that ultimately, these immersive technologies can actively and positively contribute to Africa’s socio-economic development,”
MediAR introduces a revenue-sharing model based on a pay-per-view service, encouraging content creators and brands to coexist in a digital ecosystem.
BlackRhino VR encourages content creators across Africa to utilise the platform, fostering the development of an internet economy that creates jobs and contributes to the continent’s overall development.
