Zilla Shifts Gears: Halts BNPL Service to Prioritise Cross-Border Payments

Nigeria’s Zilla, a fintech startup, has decided to stop offering its buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) service. Instead, they’re shifting their focus to Zillawire, their recently introduced cross-border payment service.

If you tried to buy something on RovingHeights’ website on Monday evening, you might have noticed that the option to use Zilla was no longer there.

Zilla used to give Nigerian shoppers the option to buy gadgets and household items on credit without any interest. This worked by starting with a 25% initial deposit and allowing users to repay over eight weeks.

Now, Zilla users will need to make full payments for their purchases. However, the startup plans to make changes and enhancements to their instalment payment plans, as mentioned in a note on their website.
