Bolt South Africa Boosts Earning Potential for Drivers with New Feature

Bolt South Africa has rolled out an exciting update to its ride-hailing driver app, introducing the ‘Driver Destinations’ feature.

This addition aims to provide more opportunities for driver-partners to earn money while making their journeys more efficient.

With the new feature, drivers can now input their final destination into the app and select from multiple orders that align with their route.

This innovation comes in response to feedback from drivers and courier partners, who highlighted the challenges they face in picking up riders on their way home or finding orders that match their location and destination.

Sandra Suzanne Buyole, Bolt’s PR Manager for Africa, emphasised the importance of their network of 3.5 million fleet, driver, and courier partners. She stated, “Driver Destinations is the newest upgrade to the Driver app, which provides more flexible earning opportunities for driver-partners and ensures the availability of our ride-hailing service for riders.”

This enhancement is part of Bolt’s ongoing investment in new products, features, and incentives to enhance the Driver app and improve user experience.

In addition to Driver Destinations, the Bolt driver app boasts features like the Bolt Rewards program, the Driver Compliments feature, and an in-app cancellation option.

Moreover, Bolt is extending its efforts to enhance the driver experience in other countries.

In Nigeria, driver-partners can benefit from fuel and insurance discounts under the Bolt Rewards program, which offers tiered rewards and in-app discounts based on points earned through completed rides.

This move aims to help drivers manage rising fuel costs and unexpected repair expenses, especially in the wake of fuel subsidy removal in early 2023.

Bolt’s expansion initiatives also include driver incentives such as commission waivers.

In its latest launch in Egypt, the 15th African market, Bolt introduced a six-month commission fee waiver for drivers. Similar benefits were extended to drivers in Botswana and Zimbabwe upon launch in those countries.
