Binance Executives Detained by Nigerian Government Finally Identified

After a two-week silence, the Nigerian government has revealed the names of the Binance executives they detained

Tigran Gambaryan, leader of their criminal investigations team, and Nadeem Anjarwalla, the regional manager for Africa, were the ones taken into custody.

Tigran Gambaryan, a former US federal agent now heading Binance’s criminal investigations team, and Nadeem Anjarwalla, based in Kenya and managing Binance’s affairs in Africa, were identified by US publication Wired.

Binance, in response, stated they’re working with Nigerian authorities to ensure the safe return of Gambaryan and Anjarwalla. They emphasised the professionalism and integrity of both individuals, expressing confidence in a quick resolution.

The ordeal began when Gambaryan and Anjarwalla arrived in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, to discuss cryptocurrency exchange regulations with Nigerian officials.

However, tensions rose quickly, resulting in their detention by the National Security Agency for two weeks, during which their passports were confiscated.

Despite efforts by US and UK representatives, the executives remain under guard without the opportunity for private conversations.

Yuki Gambaryan, Tigran’s wife, expressed frustration over the lack of information and uncertainty surrounding her husband’s situation.
