Botswana’s First Satellite Set to Launch in 2025

EnduroSat, a Bulgarian satellite maker, is teaming up with Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) to create Botswana’s first satellite, named BOTSAT-1. This satellite aims to help the country’s mining and farming sectors by monitoring ground and soil conditions.

Scheduled for launch in 2025 on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, BOTSAT-1 will provide essential data to improve mining efficiency and protect crops from drought.

The satellite will use EnduroSat’s 3U microsatellite platform and feature a hyperspectral camera. SpaceX will handle the launch details and conduct thorough tests to ensure the mission’s success.
