Logidoo, a logistics startup that helps eCommerce businesses in Africa with cross-border services, just got a $50,000 grant. This money comes from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), a part of Canada’s foreign affairs and development efforts. The grant is for developing and promoting artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to improve Africa’s logistics market.
With this new funding, Logidoo plans to simplify transactions and streamline transport operations. This will make logistics processes across Africa more efficient and accessible. Tasmir Ousmane Traore, the Founder and CEO of Logidoo, says the funding will help create innovative AI solutions that will boost efficiency, transparency, and affordability in African logistics.
Logidoo, founded in 2019, aims to establish a highly efficient network, reduce operational costs and transit times, and enhance customer satisfaction. These improvements are expected to help African businesses expand into new markets across the continent.
Earlier this year, Logidoo raised $1.55 million in seed funding from various venture capitalists, including Nigeria’s Founders Factory Africa. This funding is being used to expand Logidoo’s logistics solutions to Senegal, Morocco, Ivory Coast, and Tunisia.
The new AI-focused investment will develop intelligent algorithms to optimise delivery routes, cut travel times, and reduce fuel consumption. Part of the funding will also go towards automating tasks and predictive maintenance to avoid costly breakdowns.
Logidoo has ambitious goals: they aim to reduce delivery times by 20%, cut operational costs by 15%, and increase on-time delivery rates to 95%. The company also plans to expand its operations to 10 new African countries within the next two years and grow its customer base by 50%.
Logidoo’s advancements will make transportation solutions in Africa more transparent, faster, and affordable. This will make logistics services more accessible to businesses of all sizes and contribute significantly to the continent’s economic growth.
“Our vision goes beyond immediate gains. We believe that AI-powered logistics solutions are key to unlocking the full potential of African economies,” Ousmane concluded.
