Ivory Coast-based eyecare startup, Lapaire, has secured $3 million in funding to fuel its growth and expand across Africa.

Since its founding in 2018, Lapaire has focused on providing a trusted and accessible eyecare experience. Their one-stop-shop approach offers stylish quality eyeglasses at fair prices.

Having tested the eyesight of over 300,000 people, the startup has already improved the lives of 180,000 individuals.

Operating in six African countries – Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Uganda – Lapaire currently manages 58 branches.

The recent $3 million funding round, led by Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P), with participation from AAIC, FINCA Ventures, and Beyond Capital, aims to expand Lapaire’s presence in existing and new African markets.

The funds will also be used to optimise operations, with a goal to open 300 new eyecare centres across the continent. Jerome Lapaire, the founder and CEO, expressed the company’s commitment to positively impacting the lives of one million people in Africa by 2026.
