ThriveAgric Launches Phase Two: Distributing Agri Inputs to Benefit 100k Farmers

Nigeria’s ThriveAgric, a farming tech startup, has started its dry season farming with a focus on supporting more than 100,000 small-scale farmers in northern Nigeria.

Their goal is to enable the production of over 300,000 metric tons of grains.

Established in 2017 and fully operational since 2018, ThriveAgric uses its technology to empower Nigerian farmers.

They help farmers sell their products to FMCGs and food processors, utilising proprietary technology to secure finance and enhance productivity. This not only benefits farmers but also contributes to promoting food security in the region.

ThriveAgric’s unique agricultural operating system functions offline and communicates with farmers through USSD.

Field agents use Android apps powered by this system to digitally identify creditworthy farmers and gather essential farm data.

Having secured a substantial $56.4 million round of debt funding in March 2022, ThriveAgric plans to provide smallholder farmers in their current program with irrigation facilities, drought-resistant inputs, technological support, storage, and access to premium markets.

This comprehensive approach aims to optimise agricultural output during this specific farming cycle.
