Remoteli, a Ghanaian tech startup, recently secured a funding boost of $315,000 from Jeremie Frimpong, a professional footballer from the Netherlands.
This investment aims to support Remoteli’s mission of transforming the African job market.
Established in 2020, Remoteli operated as a technology platform connecting skilled African professionals with global companies interested in building diverse remote teams.
By utilising advanced algorithms, Remoteli overcomes geographical barriers, facilitating collaboration between talent and companies.
Beyond matchmaking, Remoteli is developing a range of tools such as project management, communication, time tracking, and invoicing solutions to empower companies worldwide.
Frimpong’s investment is intended to accelerate the startup’s growth and expand its impact.
Samuel Brooksworth, CEO of Remoteli, highlighted the significance of partnerships in promoting digital literacy and creating job opportunities for diverse talents.
Frimpong’s investment follows a trend of professional footballers backing African tech startups.
Notably, StarNews Mobile, based in Ivory Coast, received $3 million in funding from French footballers Aurelien Tchouameni, Jules Kounde, and Mike Maignan.
This trend signals a potential rise in athlete-backed investments in African tech ventures.
