A Nigerian game development company teams up with Disney for a new mobile game. They’ve partnered with Disney Games to launch a mobile game inspired by the new animated series Iwájú, which you can watch on Disney+.
Maliyo Games, based in Lagos, is known for creating African-themed games for mobile users. With over 40 games under their belt, they’re now teaming up with Disney to bring you Iwájú: Rising Chef.
This game celebrates Nigeria’s delicious cuisine, with players cooking up dishes like Jollof Rice, a popular West African favourite.
Hugo Obi, the founder and CEO of Maliyo Games, expressed his pride in his team’s ability to create top-notch games for a global audience. He sees this collaboration as a way to showcase African talent to the world.
Sonoko Isioka, executive director of product development at Disney Games, praised Maliyo Games for their ability to capture the essence of Iwájú and Nigerian culture in their game.
She believes this collaboration will bring a unique and authentic experience to players worldwide.
