Recognizing the prevalent inefficiencies and lack of transparent pricing within the logistics sector, Yango Delivery has strategically introduced Cargo Express to address these challenges head-on.
The introduction of Cargo Express is poised to revolutionise the delivery landscape, particularly in major urban centres such as Accra, Abidjan, and Lusaka, by offering customers a streamlined solution for transporting oversized goods.
This feature not only provides additional options like mover assistance but also includes a complimentary ten-minute window for loading and unloading, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience for users.
Available within the Yango app’s Delivery section, Cargo Express boasts a diverse fleet of vehicles tailored to accommodate items of varying sizes and weights.
A key highlight of Cargo Express is its commitment to transparent pricing. By displaying upfront pricing at the time of order placement, Yango Delivery aims to instil confidence and trust among its customer base.
Furthermore, customers can track the real-time movement of their shipments through the Yango app’s integrated map feature and receive timely notifications regarding delivery status, thereby fostering transparency and accountability throughout the order fulfilment process.
Ireoluwa Obatoki, the Head of Business Development for Africa at Yango Delivery, emphasised the company’s dedication to leveraging technology to enhance urban delivery services.
According to Obatoki, the launch of Cargo Express signifies Yango Delivery’s proactive approach towards addressing the evolving needs of the delivery market in Africa while championing clear and transparent pricing structures.
In addition to Cargo Express, Yango Delivery offers a comprehensive suite of services, including ride-hailing (Yango), motorcycle-based package delivery (Yango Delivery), and food delivery options (Yango Deli), consolidating various daily service offerings within a single app ecosystem.
Notably, Yango formed a strategic partnership with MTN in December 2023 to enhance the welfare of its partnered drivers by providing them with free data packages.
Furthermore, Yango made headlines in February 2024 by implementing a 23% increase in ride-hailing fares.
This decision, purportedly aimed at supporting drivers and mitigating economic challenges, underscores the company’s commitment to fostering a conducive working environment while striving for continuous improvement in service delivery standards.
