Ghana’s Rivia Boosts Healthcare Reach: Acquires Local SaaS Firm Waffle

Rivia, a Ghana-based e-health startup, recently made a big move in the tech world.

They’ve acquired Waffle, a Ghanaian software company that helps small and medium-sized businesses with their digital needs.

Rivia, which started up in January, partners with clinics to improve healthcare services. They provide support in getting more customers, handling finances, and using technology better.

Right now, Rivia is only in Ghana, but they plan to spread to more places in West and East Africa. They give clinics a system to manage appointments, records, payments, labs, and pharmacies. Plus, they offer loans to help clinics upgrade their places and stock up on supplies.

With the acquisition of Waffle, Rivia gets access to even more advanced software. Waffle specialises in managing hospitals and inventory.

Now, they’ll work together under the name RiviaOS. The founder of Waffle, Victor Nara, is now the chief technology officer at Rivia.

RiviaOS is like a one-stop-shop for healthcare providers. It helps with scheduling appointments, managing services, doing video consultations, and even diagnosing health issues using AI.

By teaming up with Waffle, Rivia aims to speed up how fast their clinics go digital and make their operations smoother.

The CEO of Rivia, Isidore Kpotufe, praised Victor Nara, saying he’s a smart businessperson and engineer. Victor Nara himself is excited about the merger, saying it was an obvious choice because Rivia shares Waffle’s values and goals.
