Launch of Tanzania Angel Investors Programme: Training 50 Investors to Propel Startup Growth

Serengeti Business Angels Network (SBAN), along with Ennovate Ventures and UNCDF Tanzania, has introduced the Tanzania Business Angel Investors Accelerator (TAA) training program.

This initiative aims to enhance technology investment and foster the growth of startups in Tanzania.

SBAN serves as an investment platform that encourages angel investing in Tanzania, providing investors with opportunities, education, and networking.

Ennovate Ventures, a micro-fund focused on venture-building, invests in early-stage startups in Tanzania and East Africa.

In collaboration with UNCDF, which forms partnerships for impactful development, the three organisations have launched TAA with the goal of transforming tech investment in Tanzania.

The program will train 50 tech startup enthusiasts in Tanzania to become angel investors, offering them knowledge, mentorship, and practical support to kickstart their investment journey.

This initiative is part of SBAN’s broader plan to cultivate 1,000 active angel investors in Tanzania and the diaspora by 2026.

Rodrique Msechu, co-founder and network manager of SBAN, highlighted the vibrant startup ecosystem in Tanzania but acknowledged the challenge of limited access to capital.

The Tanzania Business Angels Accelerator program aims to bridge this gap by training and supporting new angel investors, contributing to the growth of Tanzania’s startup ecosystem.
