OfferZen Secures $4.3M Funding and Revamps Business Model in South Africa

OfferZen, a South African developer hiring platform, secures $4.3 million in funding from Invenfin and AI Capital, following a successful $5.1 million funding round in 2021.

The company, founded in 2015, facilitates connections between actively job-seeking developers and over 2,000 companies in South Africa and beyond.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by its customers in 2023, OfferZen introduces a fixed-fee unlimited hiring subscription alongside its traditional per-hire charge.

This shift aims to alleviate financial strains on tech companies, and according to co-founder Philip Joubert, the new model has been well-received by customers.

In addition to the funding, OfferZen announces changes in leadership, with Matt Beck taking over as CEO from Philip Joubert, who served as CEO for three years.

Joubert expresses confidence in Beck’s ability to lead the company, noting Beck’s contributions to scaling the business.

Looking ahead, Beck anticipates significant updates to the platform in the coming months, introducing innovative ways for candidates and companies to connect using AI.
