Dream VC Opens Applications for 2024 Venture Capital Training

Dream VC, a top provider of venture capital training programs in Africa, is now accepting applications for its 2024 cohort.

Founded in 2021 by Mark Kleyner and Cindy Ai, who have extensive experience in startups and venture capital across Europe, North America, and Africa, Dream VC aims to democratise access to venture capital opportunities in Africa.

With over 170 professionals trained in its first two years, Dream VC offers a tailored curriculum, hands-on training, and networking opportunities with investors. Cindy Ai emphasised the importance of accessibility, stating, Dream VC became a focal point for him because he understands the struggle of breaking into venture capital without support.

According to Dayo Koleowo, General Partner at Microtraction and a past speaker at Dream VC’s programs, the African VC industry presents high barriers to entry.

Dream VC equips individuals with the necessary skills to secure entry-level roles, addressing the demand for talent in the growing number of African VC firms.

This year, Dream VC offers two programs: Launch Into Venture Capital (LIVC) and Investor Accelerator Program (IA). LIVC, a four-month program, targets those seeking entry-level VC roles, while IA caters to mid to advanced-level professionals ready to engage in investment activities.

The LIVC program costs $1,500, while the IA program costs $5,000. Additionally, scholarships are available through the Dream VC Access Foundation.

Mark Kleyner expressed the organisation’s broader mission beyond training investors, aiming to shape future leaders across various roles in the venture capital landscape, including VCs, fund managers, angels, and ecosystem enablers.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply here before the deadline on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
