Africa Data Centres Secures Over $109 Million for Major Expansion

Africa Data Centres (ADC), part of Cassava Technologies, has secured over $109 million to grow its operations in South Africa. Rand Merchant Bank facilitated this funding.

With this investment, ADC plans to add 20MW to its hyperscale data centre capacity. This expansion aims to reinforce ADC’s leadership in the African data centre industry.

“This funding is a significant milestone in the growth of Africa Data Centres,” said Hardy Pemhiwa, President & Group CEO of Cassava Technologies. “It underscores our commitment to growth and our confidence in the future of the South African data centre market. The additional funding will allow us to support the digital transformation journeys of our customers.”

This announcement follows ADC’s 2021 pledge to invest $500 million in Africa’s largest data centre expansion.

The plan includes building 10 new hyperscale data centres in 10 countries within two years. ADC has already made significant progress in entering new, high-growth markets.
